The live-edition method this demo is testing
How a live edition gets every number.
It starts with a source.
The weekly WCCA capture, daily jail and warrant page captures, sheriff press releases, and monthly federal data.
A live edition archives every capture.
Each production capture will be stored with a fingerprint, and citations will point at the archived copy. This demo retains a citable aggregate-only capture; the production archive must preserve the underlying source response and its fingerprint.
Figures are computed, never written.
The current custody and warrant tiles above come directly from the portal’s aggregate totals. Figures that do not yet have a defensible dataset remain marked ◇. No language model writes a number.
An adversarial judge checks every claim.
Approved editions go out automatically, on schedule, and corrections are visible additions rather than quiet edits.
Editorial policy
What this report will never do.
This report counts filings, dispositions, bookings, and warrants. It does not name defendants. It does not republish the jail roster. It does not describe individual cases in identifying detail. A filing is an accusation, so dispositions are printed beside the filings. The community-level layers above carry broader context at their own pace, with their completeness stated. A figure that cannot cite its source capture does not publish.
◇ marks a sample figure, shown where a live edition prints the compiled number. Unmarked figures and linked items are sourced; the two current portal counts were captured as aggregates only. This page is a product demonstration for partner and investor conversations.
